Head of Integration and Operations Role
Our client is seeking a Head of Integration and Operations to lead the integration of several acquired companies into one cohesive, high-performing organization. Reporting directly to the CEO, this leader will drive end-to-end post-acquisition integration, establish operational systems, and foster alignment across teams with deep institutional knowledge and established industry connections.
This is not just a high-level strategist role. It is a hands-on execution seat for someone who thrives in complexity, builds trust quickly, and can drive large-scale transformation with urgency and diplomacy.
This is a full-time, exempt position based onsite 2-3x/week in Los Angeles.
Responsibilities
Operational Integration & Transformation:
- Develop and execute end-to-end post-acquisition integration plans covering people, processes, technology, and culture with documented standard operating procedures
- Lead the integration of frontline operations and back-office functions into a single, cohesive operating model
- Implement cloud-based business systems to enable consistent operations and reporting
- Support the consolidation of multiple office locations into two core hubs in LA
- Support organizational redesign and staffing decisions across the businesses
Culture & Change Management:
- Navigate complex cultural dynamics among acquired businesses, supporting the transition away from founder-led structures
- Build trust with general managers and diverse teams of all levels (from mechanics to C-suite) to drive adoption of new systems and processes
- Foster a “many companies, one team” culture while maintaining individual brand identities in the market
- Be the calm, steady presence who simplifies over-engineered processes and reduces friction
Program & Project Management:
- Develop and lead cross-functional workstreams to align and modernize each business while preserving frontline brand identity
- Track KPIs and progress against integration goals
- Facilitate alignment across functions and hold stakeholders accountable for deliverables
CEO Partnership:
- Operate as the CEO’s right hand for operational transformation, supporting a high-urgency, high-ROI mandate
- Serve as a critical thought partner to the CEO while independently driving execution
- Step in to clear operational roadblocks, resolve conflicts, and manage sensitive transitions
Recommended Minimum Qualifications
- 7-12+ experience in post-acquisition integration, operational leadership, or M&A operations
- Proven success leading operational turnarounds and integrations in mid-sized, founder-led, or portfolio companies
- Exceptional project management skills and comfort driving work in lean, resource-constrained environments
- Strong documentation and writing acumen
- High EQ and political savvy—able to balance urgency with diplomacy
- Track record of building trust with diverse stakeholder groups
- Ability to operate effectively in a high-change, high-complexity environment
Preferred Skills & Attributes
- Los Angeles-based or familiar with LA operations, able to work 2-3 days onsite
- Experience leading cross-functional teams without heavy reliance on title or authority
- Skilled at simplifying complexity and coaching teams toward adoption of best practices
- Comfortable working side-by-side with a CEO who values speed, transparency, and results
- Comfortable rolling up sleeves and executing alongside teams
Compensation Range: DOE $175K-$225K USD annual salary, with flexibility for exceptional candidates
