Vannin Chief of Staff has been retained by a private equity fund serving the software and technology ecosystem.
Our client is entering its next phase of growth, expanding its portfolio and institutional capabilities to support continued scale and performance. The Chief of Staff will serve as a strategic connector across the organization—driving alignment, operational discipline, and execution against firm-wide priorities. This newly established role reflects a meaningful investment in organizational excellence and sustained growth.
This will be a full-time, exempt position open to candidates based in the greater Los Angeles metro area. 3x/week in office requirement.
Responsibilities
Value Creation & Strategic Execution
- Translate firm-level priorities into clear, actionable workstreams and ensure strategic initiatives are effectively executed.
- Own and operationalize the firm’s value creation plan and operating cadence, bringing structure and focus to execution across the organization.
- Drive prioritization and sequencing of key initiatives; develop and maintain firmwide project roadmaps, KPIs, and scorecards.
- Partner across investment, operations, and portfolio support functions to strengthen execution discipline and enhance organizational effectiveness.
Team Alignment & Operating Cadence
- Establish and manage the firm’s strategic operating rhythm, including annual LP meetings, strategic offsites, quarterly reviews, and portfolio reporting cycles.
- Partner with team leads to set and monitor OKRs and KPIs across functional areas.
- Act as the connective force across teams—aligning priorities, streamlining communication, and enabling clarity and accountability in execution.
- Support leadership in long-term planning, goal setting, and preparation for fundraising and strategic growth initiatives.
Communications & Stakeholder Alignment
- Serve as a central liaison across internal and external stakeholders, maintaining discretion, clarity, and precision in all communications.
- Lead the creation and management of external communications, including portfolio updates, deal announcements, press, social media, and thought leadership content.
- Support LP engagement, including fundraising collateral, investor communications, and pipeline tracking.
- Oversee development of founder-facing materials, case studies, and portfolio best practices resources.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5–8+ years of experience in management consulting, operations, or functional leadership roles in scaling businesses.
- Proven ability to structure and operationalize strategy through OKRs, planning rhythms, and scalable processes.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and executive communication skills; able to distill complex inputs into clear, actionable plans.
- Strong project management and organizational capabilities, with comfort balancing multiple initiatives in a dynamic environment.
- High attention to detail, operational rigor, and a proactive, ownership-driven mindset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and GSuite applications, with solid business and financial acumen.
- Based in or willing to relocate to Los Angeles; in-office Tuesday–Thursday with occasional travel (up to 10%).
Preferred Skills and Attributes
- Exposure to private equity, venture capital, or portfolio operations environments.
- Experience building or managing internal operating systems, playbooks, or best-practice frameworks.
- Familiarity with AI/automation tools and data-driven process improvement.
- Experience contributing to legal documentation, GTM, or Revenue Operations initiatives.
- Collaborative, disciplined operator who brings executive presence, communication excellence, and a focus on long-term organizational improvement.
Compensation Range: $150,000 base + $25,000 bonus + carry
